Batla House: Barriers Cleared, John's Film Hitting Theatres On Independence Day
The stage was set for the screening of Batla House where journalists had been invited. T-Series and John Abraham were in a gung-ho mood because they were extremely confident about the film- but destiny had other plans. They couldn't get a verdict from the Delhi High Court till the show time and the media persons had to trudge back home.

About an hour back, the film has been cleared and T-Series has informed that the press show is happening at Sunny Super Sound at 8 30 pm.

A few changes has been made. Director Nikkhil Advani is working round the clock to implement them in the final draft.

Last Friday, the Delhi High Court had declined to entertain a PIL seeking to stall the film's release as the petitioner had not seen the film. "You (petitioner, his lawyers) have not seen the film. Out of trailer nothing can be done. Then why should we hear you," a bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar said. Taking note of the view expressed by the bench, the plea by a resident of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh was withdrawn as not pressed at this stage.

Ariz Khan, who is currently facing trial in the Batla House encounter case and Shahzad Ahmed, who has appealed against his conviction and life sentence in the same matter, had sought postponing of the film's release on the grounds that the proceedings in their cases would be affected.

Besides Abraham, Batla House also stars Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and Nora Fatehi in pivotal parts.

All's well that ends well, Batla House is hitting theatres on Aug 15.
